About me My name is Christophe Paternoster. I was born in Belgium in 1989 and started writing poetry when I was around 15 years old. I quickly realized that poetry was a way of expressing my emotions, and thus of controlling them better, because a good communication ultimately leads to more control, doesn’t it? By writing poetry, I can look at what I feel and cristallise it, transform it into something beautiful. All the poems I wrote become then windows showing past emotions that I felt, things that I observed, or even promised I made myself. I strongly believe that poetry can be an extremely powerful tool and I’m not afraid to say that it saved my life more than once, it gave my life a meaning. I grew up in the south of Belgium, so my mother tongue is French. I started writing in French when I was a teenager and I still have a few French poems that I really like. I’m going to post those ones with an English translation below, so that you can enjoy the beauty of the original text while also understanding its meaning if you don’t speak French. Since I lived in England a few years ago and I have a lot of international friends, I want to communicate to as many people as possible, so I write most of my poems in English. I’m constantly looking for new inspirations and new ways of writing my poems, I also want to keep improving. I hope you’ll enjoy them, let me know what you think, your feedbacks might help me become a better poet.
